Grafton NH Man Leads Police on Chase

Canaan ChaseA Grafton NH man sent Canaan Police on a chase after he failed to stop for them on Rt. 4 just after 9:30 pm, Sunday night. Police say they attempted to stop Martin O’Connor 40, driving a 1999 Infinity sedan for a motor vehicle violation when he increased his speed. O’Connor passed several vehicles in a no passing zone and continued onto NH Route 118 and eventually into Orange NH when police stopped the pursuit. A short time later Sgt. Porter and Officer Agan found the Infinity overturned on Burnt Hill Road in Orange.

O’Connor crawled out from the overturned vehicle and ran into the woods. Police pursued him and eventually took him into custody. O’Connor suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, he was charged with Disobeying an Officer and Operating after Suspension (Subsequent Offense). O’Connor was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and will appear in Lebanon District Court on Monday January 11, 2016 at 8:15 am.
