The 11th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is on Saturday 10 am – 2 pm. Nearly 600 collection sites will be opened throughout New England. Many Police Departments have drop off receptacles that are secured in the lobby of their stations where unwanted drugs can be drop 7 days a week throughout the year with no questions asked in an anonymous manner. There are also numerous collection sites all over NH and VT this Saturday some Town Halls, Senior Centers, Community Centers and pharmacies.
Sullivan County’s High Sheriff John Simonds stresses the importance of the disposing of unused prescription drugs.
Besides leading to addiction, there are other dangers.
During the last National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day the New England Field Division collected over 67,000 pounds of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
