Cause Unknown in Hartford VT Fire

fire HartlandVT Fire investigators will be on scene this morning to try to identify the cause of a fire that destroyed a Hartford VT apartment building yesterday. Hartford firefighters found two vehicles engulfed in the driveway and the front of 38 Crystal Place heavily involved with fire when they arrived about 2:45 pm.

Firefighters tried to enter the building but because of the heavy extent of fire throughout the structure, firefighting operations were done from the outside. It was confirmed that all occupants evacuated prior to the arrival of the fire department.

Lebanon, Hanover, Norwich, Woodstock, Plainfield, Weathersfield, Ascutney, Windsor, and Thetford all assisted Hartford in the ground operations.

The Red Cross supplied water to the firefighters and assisted occupants and neighbor with recovery.
