The Keene Police responded to Court Street, near the Dunkin Donuts, for a report of a motor vehicle collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle. Upon arrival it was apparent the motorcycle had run into the rear end of the pickup truck. The operator of the motorcycle was being tended to by citizens and was ultimately identified as19 year old, Timothy Cates Jr, of Manchester.
Cates was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious head trauma as a result of the collision and was ultimately transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon via helicopter.
The pickup truck, operated by 24 year old, Tucker Lash-Wheeler of Keene was traveling south on Court Street and had stopped to make a left hand turn into Stone Arch Village apartments. Cates, also traveling south failed to stop in time and ultimately put down the motorcycle which traveled a short distance before coming into contact with the rear of the pickup truck.
