On June 23, 2016 Hartford officers, assisted by Probation and Parole officers from the Hartford office, conducted a search of two separate rooms at the Pleasant View Motel located at 583 Woodstock Road in White River Junction, Vermont as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. Between the two rooms, officers seized 1,711 bags of heroin and numerous hypodermic needles. 31 year old Marc Lapointe of White River Junction, Vermont was taken into custody for Heroin Trafficking, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin, Possession of Regulated Drug-Depressant, Resisting Arrest and being a Fugitive from Justice out of New Hampshire. He was arraigned in Windsor Superior Court on June 24, 2016 and was remanded to the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail. 51 year old Rodney Gosselin of White River Junction, Vermont was taken into custody by the Department of Corrections for violating his furlough. He was remanded to the Southern State Correctional Facility. He is due to appear in Windsor Superior Court on July 26, 2016 to answer the charges of Heroin Trafficking, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin and Possession of Regulated Drug-Depressant. Lapointe’s 6 year old son, who had been in Lapointe’s room, was placed into care of a relative while the New Hampshire Division of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) investigates the matter. The investigation is ongoing and more charges will be forthcoming.
