K-9 Briggs of the Lebanon Police Department is receiving a bullet and stab protective vest. K-9 Briggs and handler Officer Tracy are known for tracking a man who was missing for hours in dangerous terrain after an accident on I-89 in January of this year. Officer Tracy and K9 Briggs recently received a Commendation Bar for their efforts.
The vest is being sponsored by an anonymous donor and will be embroidered with “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.”.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $1,050.00. Each vest has a value between $1,795 – $2,234 and a five-year warranty.
