National Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, October 22. Sullivan County’s Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 12th opportunity in six years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Bring your pills from 10 am -2 pm to the Sullivan County Complex at 14 Main Street, Newport. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Other Sullivan County police departments participating in the event are the Grantham Police Department, Claremont Police Department and the Washington Police Department.
