On October 12, 2016, Matthew Clair, age 33, of Lebanon, NH was arrested for possessing over two pounds of marijuana and a significant quantity of psilocybin mushrooms. After his arrest, Clair was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and was due in court for arraignment on November 7th.
On October 23, 2016, the Lebanon Police Department received a report that Clair was threatening a witness in his drug distribution case. An investigation conducted by the Lebanon Police Patrol and Detective Bureau’s revealed that Clair had made several threats to a case witness through text message. Further, Clair had stolen property from the witness and then demanded money for its return.
On October 24, 2016, Clair was arrested and charged with Tampering with Witnesses and Informants, a Class B Felony, Theft by Unauthorized Taking, a Class A Misdemeanor and Breach of Bail Conditions, due to being out on bail from the previous offense.
Clair was held on $10,000 cash bail and is set to be arraigned on October 27 in the Lebanon District
