Sunapee FD Helps Resident Celebrate the Cubs World Series Win

hazelAt 108 years of age, Sunapee resident Hazel Nilson may be the only person in the country still alive when the Chicago Cubs won the World series in 1908.  As a born and raised Chicagoan, she has been a Cubs fan since she can remember.  She moved to Sunapee Cove two years ago to be closer to family and has remained loyal to her Cubbies, watching the entire Game 7 of the World Series to see her team win.   Since she couldn’t go to Chicago to see the victory parade, the Sunapee Fire Department offered to let her join them on November 6 as they lead the victory parade into town for the Sunapee High School Girls Soccer team when they won the NHIAA Division IV State Championship.
