Springfield VT Seeks Landlords To Help With Opiate Problem

springfield VTSpringfield VT rental property owners have been invited to meet with Town Officials to help combat its opiate problem.  Town Manager Tom Yennerell sent a letter to the landlords, asking them to meet with him, Police Chief Douglas Johnston, US Attorney Eric Miller, Springfield Project ACTION and other town officials since most of those dealing drugs live in rental units.  According to Yennerell often tenants will host drug dealers in exchange for drugs and that puts landlords in a unique position to help deter drug dealing in the community.  The meeting will inform landlords of their responsibilities and what resources are available to assist law enforcement in combating the problem.  The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29 at 6:00 pm at the Congregational Church on Main Street in Springfield.
