A tractor trailer struck a guardrail and jackknifed on I-89 in Hopkinton, leaking approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel onto the northbound side of the roadway at approximately 9:58 a.m.on Dec. 12.
The highway was reduced to one lane of travel for over three hours to facilitate cleanup, which was supervised by the Department of Environmental Services.
The 2015 Freightliner and 53-foot box trailer, registered to Nationwide Express Transportation out of Hialeah, Florida, was operated by Yusniel Rodgriguez, 27, of Hallendale Beach, FL.
No one was injured.
Rodriguez was issued citations for driving too fast for the existing road conditions and for a commercial vehicle logbook violation.
This crash is under investigation by the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D, Concord by Trooper Anthony Cattabriga.
