An electrical lighting circuit was the cause of fire at Ron’s Fix-it Shop in Claremont. Claremont Fire Chief Rick Bergeron said crews arrived at 3 Third Street shortly before 5:00 pm on Monday and found a moderate fire in the attic of the single-story building. The fire was under control just after 5:30 pm. Although the exact point of origin had not yet been identified it was apparent the fire had been smoldering for some time. The Fix-it Shop sustained moderate fire damage and smoke and water damage to Northeast area of the building and damage to the involved electrical circuits. All firefighters and equipment were back at the Claremont Fire Station by 7:10 pm.
