map_of_sunapee_nhThe Sunapee Board of Selectmen approved the weekend of August 17-19, 2018 as the celebration of the Town of Sunapee’s Sestercentennial. The Sestercentennial Committee started meeting last October to start the planning for the Sunapee’s 250 Birthday Party.

.Chairman Ron Garceau and the 9 other committee members are discussing and budget for special events, methods of recognizing the milestone, funding and getting community involvement from Sunapee residents and neighbors who have moved to other parts of the world.

A community contest to design a logo for Sunapee’s Sestercentennial Year is in the works and information will be forthcoming.

Please contact Chairman Garceau at rongarceau@comcast.net if you want to participate or have suggestions for events for the celebration in 2018

Sounds like a great idea, I was the Boyscout flag bearer in one parade and rode in my father’s 1950’s red, white and blue Army command truck in the 1976 parade. I am also a class of 78 graduate of Sunapee Jr& St High School.
