Name Released of Person Killed in Webster Fire

flamesFire Marshal J. William Degnan announces with Fire Chief Emmett Bean Sr. of the Webster Fire Department and Police Chief Ben Liberatore of the Webster Police Department an update and identification of the victim of the fatal fire investigation at 401 Little Hill Road in Webster, NH.

An autopsy was conducted by the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office and the victim has been identified as 61-year-old STEVEN YOUNGS of Webster, NH.  The cause of death was inhalation of smoke and ruled accidental.

The investigation by the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s office into the origin and cause of the fire is completed.  Due to the extensive fire damage to the residence the fire origin and cause has been ruled undetermined.

State Fire Marshal Degnan would again like to remind everyone that working smoke alarms save lives and to have an escape plan from you residence in case of a fire.  When a fire is detected by smoke alarms, occupants only have minutes to escape before being overcome by the effects of smoke.
