On Friday, February 17, 2017 at approximately 2:13 p.m., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop A barracks responded to a report of a rollover motor vehicle accident on Route 16 southbound in the City of Rochester, NH.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Route 16. This vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and overturned, coming to a final rest on its roof. A male driver, the lone occupant, sustained serious injuries and was flown from the scene via DHART medical helicopter to Maine Medical Center.
All aspects of this accident are being investigated.
The right travel lane in was closed for approximately 1 ½ hours. All north and southbound lanes were closed for approximately 20 minutes to allow the DHART helicopter to land and remove the patient for transport.
Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene were the Rochester Fire Department, the Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART), and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
