A North Hartland VT man was arrested for his third DUI early Saturday morning. Police say they arrested Joseph T. Hamel 28, after his car was found unoccupied in the intersection of County and Rice Roads in Hartland. Hamel who was taken to Mt. Ascutney hospital told officers he was tired from shoveling and plowing snow for the past two days and pulled his vehicle over to take a nap. Troopers determined Hamel was currently under criminal suspension for two prior DUI convictions. After a field sobriety test Hamel was charged with DUI #3 and driving with a suspended license. Hamel will appear on April 18 in Windsor County Superior Court to answer the charges.
