Over 1,000 people are expected to attend Dartmouth’s 45th powwow this weekend on the Green. The event runs Saturday May 13th and Sunday May 14th and has entertainment from that began at traditional dancers, drummers, and craftspeople in addition to food vendors. The Grand Entry Starts at noon.
In addition, traditional Native American Food will be offer by the Class of ’53. At the start of each day’s celebration, tribal communities will participate in the blessing of the grounds, the grand entry, and the intertribal dance.
Dartmouth’s powwow is sponsored by Native Americans at Dartmouth, the President’s Office, the Native American Program, and the special programs and events committee of the Collis Center for Student Involvement. In case of rain, the event will be in the Leede Arena. The Grand Entry Starts at noon.
