Hanover Seeks Volunteers to Pull Garlic Mustard

The Town of Hanover is seeking volunteers to pull up the invasive garlic mustard plant.  Twenty-Five neighborhoods in Hanover are now known to have the invasive species.  Displays are setup at the Howe and Etna Libraries, Town Hall, Hanover’s three schools, and the Black Community Center.  Displays show the plant, map of known colonies, and handouts to help volunteers identify the plant with tips for its control.

Mink Brook West Trail and the Girl Brook Trail have signposts and stations where large drawstring trash bags for garlic mustard contributions, and trail users are encouraged to pull a few handfuls of the plant and place these in the bags provided. For more information, contact Vicki Smith at 603-643-3214.
