Area Memorial Day Celebrations and Observances

Monday

Claremont — Memorial Day Parade, May 29, 10 a.m. — Parade starts at Claremont Middle School and proceeds to the Pleasant Street Cemetery for a brief ceremony. The parade then continues down Pleasant Street and ends at Broad Street park. There will be speeches and the laying of a wreath. Two local families will receive special honors.

Franklin — Memorial Day Parade, May 29, 2 p.m. — Starts at Sanel Auto and ends at the VFW post by way of Central Street.

Lebanon — Memorial Day parade, May 29, 11 a.m. — Parade starts on Hanover Street and goes down Eldridge Street toward Colburn Park, with a brief stop on the Hanover Street bridge

Newport — Wreath Laying Cermony, May 29, 11 a.m. — Held on the town commons in the area of Park and N. Main Street.

New London -Service at First Baptist Church 2:00 PM.

Newbury NH Observance at Newbury Veterans Memorial 9:00 AM Pancake Breakfast at Vets Hall 9:45 AM

Springfield VT – Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will start at 9:30 am on Monday the 29th at the Veteran’s Memorial Park on River Street. Following the ceremony, there will be a short parade from the Veteran’s Park to Riverside Middle School stopping at the Riverside Bridge where a wreath will be placed in the water honoring servicemen lost at sea.

South Sutton- Memorial Day Service at South Sutton  Meeting House at 2 PM

Tilton-Northfield – 8:00 AM Flag Raizing at Northfield PD. 9:00 AM Parade Starting at Winnisquam High School 11:00 AM Legion Drill Team at St. Johns Cemetery, 12 PM Legion Drill Team at Veteran’s Home.

Warner– 9:00 AM Parade starts at Legion Hall Flag Raising at Town Hall, 9:05 Program at Town Hall, 9:40 AM Parade resumes, 10:00 AM Pine Grove Cemetery 10:15 AM Warner River at N. Village Road, 10:30 Return to Legion Hall.

 Wilmot Veterans Service at 4 PM at the Red Barn and the Andover Middle School Band will play.

Windsor VT  –10 AM High Scholl Auditorium Memorial Day exercises will be held on May 29th to commemorate our 134th annual celebration.
