New London Police Department has a new officer – K-9 Vilo. K-9 Vilo was purchased from Connecticut Canine Services and was selected from a group of six other canines. The bond between Officer Josh Fisher and K9 Vilo was immediately apparent and strong. Officer Fisher and K9 Vilo will attend the Vermont Police Canine Academy Patrol School on July 10, 2017, and will be patrol certified by November 2017. New London Police Chief Ed Andersen thanks the community for their support, which made getting a K-9 officer possible. The Chief also gave special thanks to Sunapee Police Chief David Cahill for the generous donation of equipment for the canine cruiser from the Sunapee’s Police Department. Officer Fisher and K9 Vilo look forward to serving the citizens of New London.
