Investigation Into Hope for NH Recovery Closed

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announces that the New Hampshire Department of Justice has concluded its investigation into Friends of Recovery NH-DBA Hope for New Hampshire Recovery. The Office has reviewed allegations made by former employees as well as those reported by the media. Based on the facts currently known, the Office has determined that none of the allegations rise to the level of criminal conduct committed by Friends of Recovery NH-DBA Hope for New Hampshire Recovery. Therefore, the Office’s criminal investigation will be closed.
Additionally, the Department of Justice’s Charitable Trust Unit, whose role is to protect the public’s interest in the property and assets committed to charitable purposes in the State through effective registration, education and enforcement, will be reaching out to offer assistance and guidance with respect to the governance of the organization.
