Missing St. Johnbury Woman Found Dead

willisA St.Johnsbury woman who went missing Thursday afternoon was found dead this morning. Police say they found Kimberly Willis’ black 2006 Suzuki Aerio parked near the junction of Shutesville and Burbank Roads on Friday afternoon. A search of the area went into the evening hours with no success. On Saturday morning, police resumed the search and found Willis’ body ¼ mile from her car. The cause of death is undetermined and the Medical Examiner in Burlington will do an autopsy on Willis. New England K9, Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team as well as St. Johnsbury Officer Kevin Barone and his K9 Bodie assisted in the search. The 34 year old mom told her 12 and 17 year olds she would be right back late Thursday afternoon and never returned. Preliminary scene investigation is not indicating a heightened risk to the public at this time.
